The Veer Union

I love going to concerts. To me they are the life blood of the music scene. You can spend hours in the studio digitally re-mastering everything, but at a concert you have one shot to wow the crowd. Live shows are where I discover bands that I want to start getting into. Last night I stumbled upon an up and coming band, The Veer Union.

So as I said in my last post, I went to a show Thursday night. The show was at Juanita's, a restaurant in Little Rock. The venue was packed and you could feel the energy in the crowd.

The opening band was a group called Sore Eyes and they did well, they have the potential to be a great band. The show's head liner, Framing Hanley, also did incredibly well. They are the reason I went to the show in the first place and I would highly recommend checking them out.

Then there was The Veer Union. The Canadians put everything they had into their music and the result was out standing. The band does not have an official release with a record label yet that I know about, though they do have a CD that they are selling at shows. They just got signed by Universal Motown and have just release a single, Seasons.

I would like to say that this band is going somewhere fast. They have everything going for them at this moment and are on their way to becoming a great band. I'm interested to hear what their CD sounds like and will probably do a post on it when it comes out.

Till next time.
Always Listening
